Vacation

No regular post today because we're on vacation. But I do have an update on the sequel to Screwing Up Time sequel--my "line editor" finished her read through the novel and I've begun working through her edits. (Yay!)

Here's a writing quote that I thought I'd share.

“When your story is ready for rewrite, cut it to the bone. Get rid of every ounce of excess fat. This is going to hurt; revising a story down to the bare essentials is always a little like murdering children, but it must be done.”
—Stephen King

  1. Wonderful quote. Every writer should live by it. Revising and editing will make your writing better. It's just finding the mistakes.

  2. But the fat is where the best flavor is! The hardest part about cutting to the bone is knowing when to stop. Lean is good, but bare bones, not so much. I hope your vacation is going well.
